Here is where you can keep in touch with what is happening, and about to happen, within the ACCA calendar. We have a packed schedule as always and hopefully you can get involved in at least one of our events throughout the year! If you would like to know more about any of the subjects covered here, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

On Sunday, 25th April, Brian Pereira, a founder committee member of ACCA and friend to many of us who have been involved over the years, passed away, following an extremely brave fight against cancer. Brian had been ill for some time. But few would have known, as he wasn’t one to dwell on it. He was far too busy for that.
For the last few years Find Out More >>We are thrilled to announce that our Charity Bike Ride, held on Sunday 2nd May, was a resounding success and we have raised in excess of €5,000. This is far beyond our original target of €3,500 and means that we can buy everything on the list supplied by the new crèche for poor children in Olhão.
The ‘Algarve Juniors’ will be putting on a singing and dancing Extravaganza - ‘Reach for the Stars’ at Sao Lourenco International School, Almancil on Saturday 8th May. The students will be performing a range of songs from High School Musical, Fame and Hannah Montana plus a few contemporary dances including the classic ‘Singing in the Rain’ by Gene Kelly...
Miriam is a 3 year old tetraplegic little girl living in São Brás. At 9 months she was diagnosed with encephalitis caused by a Herpes virus and has been in and out of hospital ever since.
Find Out More >>...of energy and enthusiasm , to take part in the inaugural ACCA (helping children in need in the Algarve) Charity Bike Ride on Sunday 2nd May. We are asking people to give up their afternoon and cycle 50km around the Ria Formosa, Vilamoura and Quarteira (let’s face it, there are worse places to ride your bike on what will hopefully be a beautiful sunny afternoon!).
The project we are hoping to raise funds for on this Ride is a brand new Crèche called Arca de Noé, near Olhão, which is being set up by an association of volunteers.
Prime Wine (importers of quality South African Wines) and Cheese and Pickle (supplying speciality cheeses from the Isle of Man) sponsored a cocktail party recently, in the impressive setting of Charlie’s Art Gallery in Quinta Shopping.
Here at ACCA, we'd like to think it is the latter. It would certainly appear so, if you saw this tree last week, surrounded, if not overwhelmed, by just a fraction of the presents that have been donated for this year’s Angel Programme.
Local Almancil Restaurant, The Lemon Tree, in association with Prime Wine (importer of South African wines), recently offered their support to ACCA in a novel way. They generously donated €5 for every bottle of Chardonnay or Pinotage they sold to their customers in November. They raised an amazing €300 for ACCA in just 4 weeks.
Believe it or not, we are being serious. Because, there have been so many individuals and companies who have supported us this year that we cannot thank you all or we’d have no space left on our website! Plus, there are quite a few of you who genuinely don’t want us to highlight your generosity. That said, the year ended on a total high and we can’t let it go without mentioning a couple of our December highlights...
With immediate effect, please note the new address for ACCA for all future correspondence as follows:

Please do not send further correspondence to Barringtons in Vale do Lobo.
Thank you for your co-operation.
